About Our Ministry

Wounded No More, led by Gene & Lauren Lloyd, is a faith based, 501c3 non-profit organization, that equips and empowers individuals to rise above physical and emotional wounds through spiritual care at the intersection of faith and health. We recognize that there is a vital intersection between spiritual and secular needs that is commonly overlooked in communities and within the Christian church. We provide ministry, services, and training at that point of intersection, training others to be a positive and transformational force in their cities and communities, serving the local community, and teaching others to carry out the same mission. We incorporate the social elements of the gospel of Jesus by working to restore communities that have suffered through generational cycles of poverty, marginalization, addiction, and homelessness, the supernatural elements of the gospel to bring people healing, freedom, and into encounters with Jesus, and the holiness elements of the gospel teaching people about the value of the principles of God’s kingdom so we can influence the world, instead of the world influencing us. Much of what we do involves working outside of a traditional church construct because we believe in a church without walls that reaches into every walk of life, and every community to passionately share the love God has for all His creation. Our work has a strong focus in Southeast Washington D.C.’s Ward 8, an itinerant component of teaching and training  in churches and organizations around the world, a missions component with North Korean defectors in Asia, and a veteran component with ministry to former U.S. military members. Gene holds a doctorate in computer science and is currently pursuing a doctorate in theology. Lauren is currently pursuing a doctorate in public health.
